I bought a 98 civic ex with a 1000w amp and kenwood stereo. The speakers in it are Cambri brand (not Cambridge) 6"x 9" 3-way rears and 6.5" fronts. The rear driver side sounds like the tweeter is shot and while other speakers sound good, I think new ones would sound better.

1000w means virtually nothing. Give us a make and model and we can tell you more. Is it 1000w per channel? Total? Peak? RMS? No clue.

My best guess is the amp is 1000w total, peak. Meaning if it is a 4ch amp, that is 250w/ch peak. 250w peak could be (probably is) as low as 75wrms (or even lower, depending on the brand.) I'd say those polks will handle whatever that amp can throw at them, but once again, it is just a guess based on a fragment of information.
