basically junk, u'd have to find where ur odbII plug is and plug and unplug it everytime u get in and out the car, not worth getting. u can make a simple kill switch with less than 5$ all u need is a relay and a push button switch maybe placed under the dash, my friend hooked up his cruise control switch as a kill switch.

basically junk,
Based on the way I interpret their ad copy, this device sends a command to an OBD2 ECU to effect immobilization of the vehicle (via software).
This is objectively very different than a kill switch, and if it works as described, may merit adding this device as an additional "layer" in your security setup.

ok maybe not totally junk, i didn't read it completly but what i understand from it is that u just plug it in then it'll disable the car, take the thing with u and just plug it back it and hit some reset button to enable the car. what it looks like what it does is uses the immobilizer in the ignition system and disables it so even ur factory key wont work, works probably only on cars with can-bus systems or some type of factory security, don't think it'll work on cars that don't have chipped keys. heres the thing about it i see being the problem.
1) if u lose that thing after u disable the car, u are gonna be so screwed... see it all the time with those starter kill chips u can plug and unplug.
2) are you really gonna be going under ur dash everytime to disable the car.
3) most newer cars already has an immobilizer or factory alarm that disable the starter(which makes this thing really redundant)
4) nowadays if someone really wanted to steal ur car even if u got an aftermarket alarm, the club on ur steering wheel, and the thing to lock the brake like the club all together... all they really need is a tow truck and less than a minute ur car is gone
to me it's like those "as seen on tv" stuff that u buy and realize it's pretty much junk. i'd rather spend that lil extra to get an aftermarket alarm.

Could you flush the ECUs memory after using this thing by resetting the battery? Seems like it would make it pretty easy to steal if you could.

2) I wouldn't mind.
3) QFT. Plus most thieves don't usually bother with newer cars that have immobilizers in them. Maybe rsx's due to the value of their parts (engine, trans, misc swap parts)
In the end...they can still tow it. They'll get it if they want it. I put a "protected by Glock" sticker on top of my regular alarm. I figured they might think twice about risking their lives. It's the best i can really do.

As mentioned, "not just junk" or a simple kill switch, but also as mentioned, if you "misplace" it, your up the proverbial **** creek.
Also as mentioned, pretty much the same result can be had with a hidden, [or stealth] kill switch that you can not misplace, and doable for about $5-$10. 94

I don't what kind of magic the "stop thief" does. If it really some how turns of your ECU that is much better than a kill switch. You can always just run wires to your fuel pump/starter and by pass the kill switch. The only way to get around a bricked ECU would be if thief had a spare on him. As popular as Hondas are he just mine have one of those too
I have never seen soooo many bad ECUs in my life till I came to this board. I wonder if the "stop thief" would kill a honda ecu over time.
