Hi guys, i was looking at purchasing an EK9 CTR cluster to go into my 2000 Civic Si.

I noticed that my stock cluster (Si) has the green female plug slot (for cruise control) on the rear of the cluster

while the EK9 CTR cluster does NOT.

my questions is: If i install the CTR cluster into my Si and leave the green plug *unplugged*, will my cruise control still function correctly (despite not having the "cruise control" indicator illuminate on my CTR gauge cluster?)

I would imagine the plug itself serves to complete some sort of a circuit, but i am not sure if that would impede in the function of the cruise control system itself.

If i am NOT able to retain cruise due to the ctr clusters lack of a green socket, how would I go about getting the cruise control to function without the green plug being plugged into the back of the EK9 cluster?

Yes it will still function. I've done it before.

edit: or you can swap the internals over to the si cluster.

Thanks for the fast reply! Not having the cruise indicator on the cluster does not bother me, as long as it will still function without it (which you so kindly affirmed for me haha).

You mention swapping the internals over to the Si cluster, what would this accomplish? Allowing me to have the cruise control light? I dont quite understand haha.

You'll retain the look of the CTR and still keep the cc light.

Ahh okay i see. Im guessing i would have to get rid of the ek9 "carbon bezel" in exhange for the Si one, because the ctr one blocks out where the cruise control light is on the usdm cluster. Does that sound correct?

If you're good with a carving knife you can remove the block.

The gauge internal cannot be swapped

The screw hole to attach the gauges to the housing is different between the EK9 and SI

While the EK9 cluster is missing the green connector slot, it has an extra orange connector slot. What is the function of the extra orange connector slot in the EK9 cluster? Is it possibly for cruise control?

I ran a ctr cluster in my em1 for years. Sure no light, but who cares

i believe thats the SRS light.

Isn't SRS the yellow connector slot shared by both clusters?

If you're asking if both clusters utilize the same SRS plug, yes. He could add the CC circuit to the CTR cluster, its just a board, and cut out the led opening on the face of the cluster with a small carving knife.

The orange plug is for ABS . The cruise light,ABS and SRS all have there own circuit board that is separate from the cluster circuit overlay you can remove them and install them in the Ek9 cluster but it does require disassembly of the cluster and cutting the hole for the plug and indicator .
