Default Possible to adjust automatic transmission shift points?

My friend has a 95' Civic EX with the 1.6 VTEC and his engine will rev to 7200RPM but every time he nails it, it'll only rev to 6200RPM and shift. It's an automatic transmission. Is it possible to get it to rev all the way to redline without buying anything?

There is a special tool, sort of like an allen key and with that you can adjust the solenoids on the trans, the good thing is that honda has them on the outside and they are easy to get at. You will need a manual to tell you which one is which and with that you can asjust how hard the trans shifts and how long it has to rev before it shifts up shiftos or downshifts. I saw the tool in ATRA (automotive transmission rebuilders association) or somthing like that magazine.
