Default Hot air coming from parking brake area

I may be paranoid...but i have a 96 integra special edition 106k. automatic.
lately when i've been driving the car.....i notice heat is coming up out of the parking brake area....where my center console is....granted the weather is getting cold...it generally occurs when i'm driving on the freeway ...going about 80 mph consistent...is it just weather and something no need to worry about? or could it be tranny?

The tranny isn't anywhere near the handbrake area, it's in the engine bay and doesn't go under the car at all really. Maybe it's the exhaust heating it up, but I don't see how and I don't think my car does that (it's manual though so maybe there's a difference that would cause that to happen in autos). Just giving my input even though I didn't answer your question.

Your transmission isn't near the parking brake handle. It is most likely just air from outside being heated by the cat/exhaust and finding its way inside. You can try checking underneath to see if there is a damaged seal (the secondary O2 wires come up near there), but I wouldn't be concerned.

It's coming from the exhaust. On my old Civic, you could feel the heat coming from the exhaust when you drove in the cold. Wasn't as noticeable in the summer. The air flow under the car brings it up teh e-brake lever area.
