Lincoln Precision Tig 225 VS. Syncrowave 200
I'm in the market to purchase my own tig & curious what direction you guys would go. I've noticed that most of the members here seem to be partial to the miller unit but i'm curious as to why.
Pros & Cons, discuss
Thanks guys.

Re: Lincoln Precision Tig 225 VS. Syncrowave 200 (Running925)
My lincoln PT has never had a single issue. EVER. In Three years of work. I'm not a shop, but I typically do a car a week. (exhaust, suspension pieces/parts, braces, little things, no huge race car builds)
Everyone here will say miller, some boards say lincoln. Go try them both, see who is local where you can get service from (in case you ever need it, both machines are very good and reliable).
Edit: you live in ohio, lincoln's world HQ is in cleveland, buy red.

i dont really know about the miller but the lincoln had dual transformers for ultra low amprage startups like 5 amps or something. i have never had an issue with mine either.

Are you reffering to high frequency start? Pretty much any quality machine (ie not harbor freight) will have a high freq start now.

i had picked up the p225 about a year ago. i love it and never had a problem with it. both are good, however when pricing side by side, and both being a creditable company, i went with lincoln.

Re: Lincoln Precision Tig 225 VS. Syncrowave 200 (Niles)
lol, no I was referring to their micro-start crap.
Some things I liked about the Syncrowave 200 is that most of my welding is done around 100 amps and the Miller has a higher duty cycle at those amperages than the Lincoln. I also like the auto post flow, and the torch has a really nice braided line that is super maneuverable. (I weld in a lot of tight/unusual places)
Bottom line is that I guarantee you will be happy with either one.

I'm am partial to miller's because there hq is in Appleton, WI, my hometown, where the company all started. Used to live a couple blocks from the factory as a little kid.
