Remove the negative cable first. This will eliminate any possibility of accidently causing a short to ground while working on the postive cable connections.
After you're all done, fire up the engine, and with ALL electrical loads turned off (lights, radio, fan, etc) let it idle without touching the gas pedal until it warms up. This is refered to as the "idle learn" proceedure. I made the mistake of replacing the battery in an auto parts parking lot and jumping right on the freeway to go home afterwards. The engine died the off ramp and for a few stops afterwards until it straightened out.

I believe one end goes to the starter solenoid. The other line end is for the fuse box ?? Are there any precuations or resets, or other items I need to do. I am familier with resetting the radio code.
