How long should brakes last?
I've got a 07 LX coupe that is 11 months old and only 13,200miles
brakes are completely spent. the wear sensory is shrieking when driving and sometime also on brakes.
It bought the car strictly for a commute, my work is 15miles away and more than half the miles on the car are highway trips of 150miles or more.
Its an automatic if that matters?
Whats the chances of getting them fixed under warranty. To me this is not "normal wear and tear" it's normal usage, but "absurd wear and derisory tear"

you dont have "normal wear and tear" but any dealership you go to will just say you drive too hard and that you step on your brakes too much and too often. you will have to pay to have it done or do it yourself, its pretty easy to replace front pads.
your brakes should not be gone already. i have almost 19k on my EX with maybe 50% brake pad left. i wish my pads were gone already though so i could do my brake upgrade.

a little over 100 bucks for replacing all four brake pads including labor here at my dealer
but yeah brake should last over 20k easy if you drive with care.

it comes down to how u drive ur car. the pads will not wear on their own. oh and no warranty will not cover them.

thats a lil funky, i have a auto ex and i still have plenty of my brake pad intack, and i dont necessarily drive with utmost care evreysingle time. ive had it for 10 months and have driven it for about 14-15000 miles

brake pads dont wear out on their own. only way you wear them out is when you physically step on the brake pedal
I have about 50k on my brakes, and theyre still more than 50%, i drive mostly highway and brake lightly

It depends which brakes your talking about the front brake pads go way before the back ones. Also the kind of brake pads affects his longevity as well, if you have cheap $10 dollar pads they wont last very long, if you have expensive ceramic pads they should last the life of the car.
