whats the best way to restore Faded Red Paint on a car WITHOUT a new paint Job ...i have money for other parts motor, rims and all that but no money for NEW paint how do i restore the original shine or atleast make it darker red or Anything that make it shine again ..

A machine would help but you can try it by hand. Turtle Wax sells an inexpensive polishing compound that you can try.

nothing once the base coat is faded the only way to fix it is to repaint it

to restore oxidized paint, you will need a compound and at the very least a dual action polisher. dont listen to these clowns saying "clay and wax" or to use turtle wax rubbing compound.

i didnt try on red car but, for my accord i used to own was black, and i went cheap route, i used turtle 3 dollar polish paste in a smal plastic can thing, its white with green lable, then i brough a 7inch walmart 20 dollar buffer, and spend some time buffing it, came out pretty good, dont use the PRO 1800 rpm one if u never try buff before, u can burn through ur paint... so that little 25 bucks can save u some money and make it look better, then use the yellow bottle scratch and swilr remover, its like 3 bucks or 5 bucks for big bottle, then use wax of ur choice, i recomment wax by hand, idk just me lol

Epic fail post.

I know you said no deals on repaint. But without seeing your car I'm going to assume by "faded" you mean "[freak]ed". Can't fix something once the paint has turned pinkish/white.

Wow this post is full of many MISinformed people. Wax will do NOTHING for his particular situation other than make it shiny. You're going to need to purchase a buffer and hit it with a color restoring compound.

What we really need is pictures, good pictures. You're probably **** out of luck with a faded red car, but only pictures will answer that for sure.

That Paint looks done for. Buffing it will still bring back a few panels it looks like. Give it a try, you might learn a few things in the process

nah..man don't waste your money on wax compound you're gonna spend almost about $50 paint job.i would suggest you start prepin it away and lay that new paint job over the car.

even $50, $60, or $150 in compound and buffing materials, it's still cheaper than a new paint job if he can't afford it or doesn't want to pay for it now.

Your just going to wast your time if you buff it. Once the base is faded your screwed. But if you want, use a light buffing compound and a wool pad and then a swirl mark remover compound and a black egg create foam pad

I had an EG hatch that had similar paint issues and I used polishing compound on it with a buffer and then went over it with a good wax(liquid glass) and it looked almost new except at night under street lamps. I would go that route...

Using a buffer with a good compound or a decent rubbing compound is just a pacifier for a paint job. Some of those panels will look a lot better, some are toast. Take it from me, if you're looking for a paint job alternative, you won't find one in any compound with your paint job being in the shape that its in. It may look better for a few weeks, but a paint job is the only true permanent solution to your problem.
