it's a mechanical gauge...it's supposed to move on take off and turns

Perfectly normal!

I don't notice any movement on accel/decel, but turning right makes the gas gauge go down, and turning left makes the gas gauge go up.

I had a Cadillac that did the same thing... so has every vehicle I've ever owned.

No matter what, my CiViC gas gauge always measures lower at startup, then when I'm moving - sooo... I think it just makes an educated guess, so to speak, e.g. averages it out.

Basically, I go by the odometer - and to hell with the gas gauge!

Default FV-QR

Common.

I have noticed one thing though... It seems maybe the EX is more accurate. We even did an EX tank swap in a CX and it's become more accurate since the tank swap.

Just a curious detail I noticed.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by bourgoinx &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">it's a mechanical gauge...it's supposed to move on take off and turns</TD></TR></TABLE>

And it also has to do to where the pick-up on the tank is located.

My 99 civic does the same and I've been looking around for answers. But for some reason for my civic, when I turn right it does go down, as explained from others, but I feel like I loose more gas when it goes down like that because. I notice that when I turn right and the gauge comes back up it looks lower than it origanlly was. Could a evap leak have anything to do with it?
