beacuse it's an in tank filter (and it's not lifetime more like 150k miles), like the 98+ accord, 01+ civic, 99+ odyssey, s2000, and 02+ crv

Re: why does the RSX have a fuel filter that never needs changing? (Soup ****)
I know the new k20 engines don't use that large underhood filter that the b-series and other Hondas used to use, they needed replacing at certain intervals, so I thought Honda cheaped out and took out that feature. In my owner's manual it now reminds owners not to run their fuel tanks to empty, so I was thinking Honda got rid of the big *** filter and doens't want owners to run their cars to empty to reduce the chance of injectors getting plugged up.
But we now have info that there is an in tank fuel filter, I hope they aren't referring to that little mesh screen that attaches to the fuel pump. I hope they have an additional filter in the tank that is better at filtering out junk in addition to the one that is on the fuel pump. I have to get a shop manual sooner or later. thanks for the info.
