Default Reverse Light Switch

I have a 2004 Civic Hybrid MT. The Auto-Stop is no longer working. More specifically, it will occasionally shut off at a stoplight but will not restart when I shift into 1st gear. Dealer Service diagnosed it as a bad Reverse Light Switch, and wanted $300 to replace it. I checked and found that the reverse lights are not working. I have 2 questions: 1) I see 2 of these switches on the parts diagram - should I replace both since they are cheap? 2) Are these easy to replace? Do I need to remove a bunch of other stuff to get to them, or is it just a plug&play swap? I looked around the transmission but it was hard to tell where exactly the switches are. Thanks very much for any info.
