clutch will not engage or go into gear
I just finished my b18 swap and i cranked it up and it wont go into gear to move. None of them. So.... I went through the usual diagnosis. New clutch master, clutch slave, new clutch, new flywheel, and i bled the system down. I can see the slave working, so i do have hydrolic pressure.
I did bypass the neutral safety switch under the pedal with a push button start, but the switch is still plugged in. So idk if that can cause an issue
What can be the issue? Im able to shift into gears when the engine isnt running, but when the engine is running all i get is a grind. My guess is that the clutch isnt engaging. Please help

Re: clutch will not engage or go into gear
The clutch is not "disengaging", to confirm this, place in first gear and step on the clutch then turn ign. to start, [just for a sec.] if the car lurches forwards the clutch is not disengaging.
If car does not lurch forwards, clutch is disengaging and you have another problem, either shift linkage is misaligned, [unlikely if it will shift into gear when engine is not running, although still a possibility] or more likely it's bent shift forks or maybe blown synchromesh, [also unlikely if you can't put it into any gear]. 94

Re: clutch will not engage or go into gear
I have had the same problem, for me the fork assembly was not pushing the clutch in far enough to engage the clutch, I pulled my tranny off took off the fork, there is a nut that holds it on put two or three washers on the bolt then put the bolt back on the tranny, never had a problem with the clutch engaging after that. It was also a b18 swap with stage 2 clutch. Hope this helps.

Re: clutch will not engage or go into gear
Old topic but I'm also having the same problem. I replaced the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate (all brand new) and now my car wont go into ANY gear with the engine running, it does with it off. The slave cylinder works fine and I already bled the system. Any ideas why I cant get a gear??!?!?!

Re: clutch will not engage or go into gear
Same as above, place in first gear, step on clutch and crank engine, if car lunges forwards, the clutch is not disengaging and that is why you can not get it into gear when engine is running.
Also, if the car lurches forward when in gear and you try and start it, it would indicate the clutch is working, [engauged].
You will need to look at the disingagement system, cable or hydro, to first make sure it is moving enough to disengauge the clutch, maybe all you need is an adjustment. 94

Re: clutch will not engage or go into gear
I have the same problem but I checked the flywheel clutch and pressure plate and they are all good.
Gears won't go in when car is on only off.
But I was thinking.. Could it be because I cleaned the clutch with wd40??????

I went hydro.. Hush22 kit.
I found out what was my problem but I don't understand it.
If I push the clutch all the way.. Gears won't go in
But if I push it 3/4 in, gears go in
Do I need to adjust the pedal?
