ST Rear Sway Install Issues-RT4WD C.Wagon owners chime in!
Hello all im goin for a long shot here but i'm wondering if any one with a RT4wd wagon or regular wagon even could post pictures of their ST sway setup or any non,OEM, DA sway setup. heres what my issue is.
when i try to install the ST rear sway i hit the drive train mounts or subframe.
I have been told by a few people that this kit should fit on rt4wd wagons clearing the dif.
I've tried rotating the bar and i got it hooked up this way ( *** backwards )
and then i tried to mount it on the oppisite side of where the instructions say and it works a little bit i can feel a mild push in the rear when i go thru turns.
Its not enough though i had a rear sway on a Ek and it wasnt this big and it pushed waaaaaaay harder.
Something is wrong heres how i had it setup.
This is exactly how the instructions want it put togather..
as you can see the bushing bracket bolts onto the sway bracket on the outside of the bracket. i hoooked it up on the inside of the bracket and angled it properly and i got the endlinks hooked on.
but it still feels awkward. Anyone.. please. help.. lol.

i figured it would be pointless if i didnt have a pic of how i have it setup now.
looking at this picture i think i realised something. i need to jack up both the trailing arms to make it bolt on right dont i? that will bring the arms up more- seeing it at a rest on the ground made me think of that any thoughts?

you didn't try to install with one wheel up and one down did you? both wheels have to be even so your arms are parallel

so its kinda like what i said about needing to jack up both the trailing arms to make it a shorter distance.

heres more pictures after messing with it this morning.. as you can see i got it mounted on the oppsite side of the bracket. ill post instructions as well in a little bit.I installed the endlinks with both wheels jacked up so it has a load on the sway now but it still doesnt feel good enough!!!
Im wondering if i can just bolt the endlink to the LCA since their both ST wouldnt one think they were ment for eachother? the instructions show the ST LCA but idk if its supposed to mount to it or not..
damn rear cross member.

Whoa, is that an adjustable length LCA?
Sorry, I can't answer on fitting the ARB...
However, I will state that mounting the endlink in single shear, to an angle bracket also mounted in single shear, doesn't seem like the best idea.

i don't like the way that flange is setting. that 90deg flange you have on the lca bolt should be parallel with the ground. you have it cocked to the side and when the sway bar flexes i wouldn't be surprised if it moved along with it. can you adjust out in order to get it flat and or somehow brace it in place?

so i called ST for support and they suggested to use the bracket and that the kit wasnt intended for use with the st lcas ( i thought that was a bit odd. ) . so i tried that any ways after i jacked the lca up to about where the car sits on the ground and then put it in the middle setting the "neutral oversteer setting" and bolted it up a little different than the instructions mentioned . ill post pics tomorow morning , long story short it feels alot better it has a nice push . its kind of peciular

even thuogh st said the lca wasnt ment to be used withe st sway i got it hooked up and it looks like it will be quite functional just as long as it will be setup like mine is you should be good, i feel although its not what i want but maybe i needa get used to it.
(minus those gay brackets on the shock)

bringing this back from the dead.
as a wagon owner, i find this thread useful. I currently have a 23mm JDM ITR bar on my wagon.

hmm.... since you bumped it, guess i'll ask a question.
doesn't that L bracket sit on the other side of the shock? wonder if op ever thought to spin his shocks around or swap left to right over and run the L bracket on the other side?
