k24a2 vs k20a2

k24a2 vs k20a2
Obviously the k24a2 has more displacement. Being the bigger motor, is there any disadvantages over running a k24a2 motor vs a k20a2? I understand the stroke is out of the roof and the bore is only a mm larger than the k20. From the VID:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klwOUNb7kSg , the guy makes some monstrous power. Right now i'm not sure if i want to go NA or eventually turbo my setup.
A few questions
1)What'sup with the "06' k24a2's are the best, their cams are larger"? Can anybody elaborate?
2) The 06's are drive by wire from my understanding. To eliminate this can i run an RBC with an aftermarket tb?
3) what other problems will I run into swapping into a 96-00 civic with the k24a2?
I'm having trouble looking for a k20a2 longblock, so i might just wait it out til i find a k24a2. SOooo.. pros and cons of a k24a2?

1. 06 k24 cams are the most aggressive for k24 bottom ends... If ur running a k20... JDM R cams are prolly best for the smaller displacement... Somebody correct me if im wrong...
2. yes RBC and TB will do the job
3. No problems... Should be like another K series swap into a civic chassis

I dont know about any cutting... Just do ya research on k20a.org Its been covered a millions times... I dont wanna give u any guesses...
It all depends.. a good k20 frank setup will put out more than a stock k24a2. Those motors usually go for like $1500+ by themselves... So thats why you hardly see people starting their builds with those... Even tho k24s have been getting ALOT more popular over the last 2 years or so...
If u on a budget... I would look into the frank setup cuz they can be extremely cheap(compared to a k24a2) if you look around for great deals... Keep in mind... Most people run Krpo regardless cuz of the options and be able to tune it for another 10-15 hp... For the stock k24a2 u can run a stock ecu... For a hybrid motor Kpro is mandatory...
There are tons of k24 motors around... But you kinda gotta be picky...
K24a1 engine from Honda CRVs will bolt to a k20 head with minimal mods... K24a4 out of the Accord can only be used if you running aftermarket pistons...
You've got options... you just gotta research whats best for you and your budget...

I dont see how your gunna run a k24 on a stock k20 ecu saftly????
there is no cuttin the rbc for k24a2 head its the k20 you have to cut the rbc.
if your looking to throw in the fastest stock motor you can and just enjoy it throw in the k24a2 its like the type R for K series almost.

Re: k24a2 vs k20a2
so many discredit the k24a2 and claim that with k20a2 head its superior. to get 300hp with a k20/24 set up it wont be stock , you would need cam, pistons, head port etc.. i am fairly certain if you was to give the k24a2 this same attn. it would yeild similar results, maybe little less up top maybe more mid range who knows. i do know there has been a couple ppl on k20 running stock k24a2's(stock cams/pistons) and getting 240-250, ovioulsy high end header/exh tuned on kpro and such. just seems not alot of ppl put alot of work into the k24a2 head b/c the k20a2 head out flows it thus deemed the superior head. bottom line is i think the OP would be very happy with k24a2, well any k series really. add the RSX VTC mechanism for up to 45 degree of travel and basic bolt ons and you will have a beast.
