Default Hard to shift!!

Im looking for a new car at the moment and found a good deal on a 94 acura integra rs. Car needs some paint but runs good the only thing is when I shift into ANY gear it takes alot of effort(I MEAN LOTTTSS). The seller says he hasnt driven the car since march and that it may be because of that..but I highly doubt it. Im thinking it could possibly be fluid or something???

Check the fluid in the clutch master cylinder first. It's on the firewall near the brake master cylinder.

Lift front end so front wheels are off the ground and put car in first keep the clutch to the floor see if the wheels move.

b4 even doing that have the car off and stopped and try shifting without anything

if your feeling lazy you can always stop on a flat street put it in gear and try and push it (not recommended but....)

havent tried jacking it up and spinning the wheels but while the car if off its the same..no grinding or noise but it feels similar to pushing a stick back and forth while stuck in super thick mud..if you can imagine that lol

First thing first, if it's shifting hard then it could possibly low on fluids. Second, check the slave cylinder. That could be the reason why. Third and last is the clutch may have seen it's end of life if it's shifting hard or won't even shift at all when the car is turned on.

I had the same problem in my 98. I checked the clutch master cylinder yesterday and it was low. I added some fluid and the shifting got better. I think that my clutch master and slave cylinder need to be replaced soon. Does anyone know if the Integra master and slave cylinders are the same as a Civic?

lay down and look at the fire wall inside the cabin right where the clutch rod goes threw the firewall, see if it is damp or wet. If so the master cylinder is bad. Also checking fluid level will tell you that something is wrong if it is low. Wont get low unless there is a leak.

I changed my trans fluid over the weekend and the shifting got easier and smoother. The clutch hydraulics are next.

The reason why it won't work is because...... "Granny shifting, not double clutching like you should!!!!"

Not double clutching like you should

I replaced my clutch master and slave cylinders and the shifting became much easier at lower RPMs. However, shifting is still difficult at higher RPMs. I am not ready to change my clutch because it doesn't slip or feel bad. Could worn motor and transmission mounts make shifting more difficult? Mine mounts are just about done.
