Cassette player connection
Hi, I got a cassette player like this one and I want to know if I can install it in my 1999 civic with am/fm radio

The cassette player has a round grey connector, while my radio only has squared connectors in the back, is it possible to connect it with an adapter or something? I'm not sure if it's from a civic, crv or something else.
Thanks.

My 96 has a round plug.
When you got the deck I assume it was used, did it come off a car or was it by itself, did the seller tell you what car it was off of?

Re: Cassette player connection
Only way is to get a used cassette harness (wire with square plug on both ends) for your 99 deck and cut it, then get a used harness for a 96 and cut it.
Hopefully same amount of wires and possible colors match it up.........this is a gamble.
You might be better off searching out a used 99 deck, and make sure you get the wire to hook it up.
Do you really want a cassette deck that bad?
If you really want a cassette deck, click here and scroll down but it is $134.

Re: Cassette player connection
You can make the cassette player work. All you have to do is buy a install harness which is like $10 bucks for your car at any store like walmart, bestbuy, target etc. so you dont have to cut your car's harness. Cut the connector off the cassette player and cut a splice the wires together. Its pretty easy to cut the and splice the wires together. If you dont know how to do it than any one who has installed a cd player or any other deck could do it for you.
