[FAQ] how to install sohc camshaft
Alright here is my little writeup for the sticky up top on how to install a camshaft, i used the exospeed race A6 cam. Please make sure that the car is set at TDC (top dead center) before any removal of camshaft. and also i am not responsible if you **** your car up because you didnt know what you were doing. so please be careful and if you have no mechanical knowledge. DO NOT PERFORM THIS BY YOURSELF!
This is how the head should look after removal of the rocker arm assembly and old camshaft.
insert the cam into the proper key marks on the distributor, make sure while in this process to replace the cam seal ($3.99-$4.99 at napa), and put the cam into the key marks on the cam gear and put on timing belt.
Re-install the rocker arm assembly and follow torque specs from manual
NOTE: make sure that you do a valve adjustment before the motor is started to avoid any valve clearance issues.
Re install valve cover and spark plug wires ( remember the silver nuts to bolt down the valve cover are only 7lb-ft of torque do not over tighten or they will strip)
Hope this helps some people when they do a cam in their single cam motor.
Thanks goes out to Wil at exospeed, and to wells fargo for letting me have the money for the cam in my bank account!

Dont forget it is a good idea to use assembly lube on the cam.
Also from what I've gathered, when you first start it up you should not let it idle. When you break it in try to keep it at about 2krpm for about 15 mins.

Re: [FAQ] how to install sohc camshaft (X-Static)
well its pretty self explainitory once the valvecover is off, i just snapped a few shots before i stuck the cam in. I just used some of the motor oil from the head and put it on the cam. If there is any questions i will be more than happy to help.
